The Sasak of Gili Meno love family life and children. Families will always feel very welcome. Children can play freely, without the danger of getting lost or the danger of traffic. There are no motorized vehicles on the island. The island’s beaches, its flora and fauna provide for a natural playground where children can creatively play.  And one can be sure that there will always be someone to take care of the children.

Sasaks like to celebrate. There is much singing and music around evening campfires and visitors are always invited to participate. Each wedding is a huge event where everybody is invited. In our Sasak Island Café, we find reasons to celebrate with traditional dance, music and events for children throughout the year.
